Hamsa is a talisman for protection, an ancient virtue against the evil eye. It also prevents the wearer from falling under any misfortune.
The numerical value of the word eye (in Hebrew) equals five times the name of God (Yahweh). According to Judaism, the hamsa represents God (the fifth letter in Hebrew), the five senses, and the five Pentateuchs of the Torah.
Chain Width is approx. 0.04 IN (1 MM).
The chain is 20 IN (50 CM) long and can be adjusted between 16 – 20 IN (40-50 CM).
Gold-filled is a “filled” metal. The outer surface is 14K gold, which accounts for 5% of the piece’s weight.
The gold layer does not come off in contact with water but is not immune to scratches and erosion.
